Organized labor and working families are important to your local
United Way — of the top 100 local workplace giving campaigns we
manage, 80 are in partnership with employers who have work groups
represented by organized labor.
That’s one reason United Way California Capital Region proudly
participates in the Community Services Liaison Program, a
nationwide program of support for and by organized labor.
Our Community Services Liaison, Greg Larkins, is one of 190
full-time individuals in 170 communities nationwide funded by
their United Ways to serve as links between their state labor
federations and central labor councils and their local United
Ways and Red Cross Chapters. Through this program, unions and
their members receive direct support in difficult times, as well
as assistance with community engagement through contributions and
volunteerism.
